The live 3D concerts will be screened in Sensio’s   network of around 900 theatres worldwide and will later be available on-demand over 3DGO! Sensio’s consumer facing VOD app. Sensio apparently has the backing of a major record label but won’t divulge which one. Confirmation on the first concert artist is pending.

“We are following the same model as the successful live to cinema transmissions of performances from the Met Opera,” explained Executive VP Richard LaBerge. “Unlike sports where much of the value lies in watching live, concerts lend themselves more to store and forward and time delay and later PPV and VoD so you can generate more revenue from the same production,” he added.

“With this alliance, Sensio is delivering on its promise to develop cultural live 3D events for the live 3D market. This announcement signals the first big step in our implementation of this strategy.”

Rigs from Binocle and 3ality Technica have been tested by S é quence.

Past live 3D events powered by Sensio include the 60th NBA All-Star Game, the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, and the Opera de Rennes's Don Giovanni.

SÉquence SDP has produced the music shows La Musicale on Canal + France, the Trabendo Sessions on Europe 2 TV/ Virgin 17, and by producing films for artists like Coldplay, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bryan Ferry.
