The few people who have Google’s IPTV service, Fiber TV, will be able to access ESPN and 3Net if they own a 3D TV.

Those who subscribe to Google Fiber Gigabit + TV will automatically receive 3net – the general lifestyle/entertainment 3D channel from Sony, IMAX and Discovery.

An extra $5 buys access to the 3D version of ESPN, $5 cheaper than what Time Warner charge.  The 3D broadcast of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships is expected to return to ESPN this summer.

Google Fiber was launched in America last year and offers super-fast broadband and TV packages for a premium.  It costs $120 per month to receive hundreds of HD (1080p) channels, thousands of on-demand shows, a terabyte of cloud storage and a connection speed 100 times faster than today's broadband.

However, don’t get too excited.  So far is only available in Kansas City with Westwood and Mission Hills to follow.
