Inside AR Summit Munich Augmented reality platform release 3D business catalogue

AR company Augment has announced a new premium service aimed at businesses

The Augment Business Catalogue lets businesses synchronise their catalogue of 3D models across their team members and customers and visualise them offline with the Augment.

Augment now has a community of over 17,000 registered 3D designers working in real estate, packaging, industrial design, furniture, character design and merchandising. These designers upload their 3D models for free on the Augment website and use the Augment app to visualise their projects integrated in a real environment and in their actual size. For example, businesses can try their latest product directly at the Point of Sales before it is physically produced.

In its free beta form the Augment Business Catalogue had 3000 corporate users.  Now the company hopes most of those will convert to paying customers paying $30 per user per month.

“What businesses love in Augment is its ease of use. They don’t have to invest time and money in the development of a custom Augmented Reality app. They simply need to add their existing 3D assets on Augment, and in a minute their business is powered by Augmented Reality.” says Augment CEO Jean-François Chianetta.

Augment was founded in October 2011 and has offices in Paris and in the United States. Augment raised a $300K round of seed funding in April 2013 with 9 French Business Angels and is now seeking to raise an additional $2M round to accelerate its growth.
