3D camera rig company 3D Film Factory launch a sub $7K bullet rig with remote inter-occular and convergence adjustment functionality.

The latest version of the compact “Load & Shoot” system utilises small Heden or Presten servo motors to remotely control the inter-occular from 0”-3.5” and the convergence from 0°-3°.

Competing against 3ality Technica’s TS-5, the 3D Film Factory are hoping the low price point won’t give an impression of inferior quality, a notion dismissed by stereographer Keith Driver: “We’ve used the rig on a five month 3D feature. It’s India’s most ambitious 3D project to date and stars some of their biggest stars. We shot with two Epics.  The crew was initially on the 3ality rig [3D Focus - it is not stated what 3ality rig he is referring to], but believe it or not, it moved too slow, cost a fortune. They weren’t getting the set-ups. They switched to the Bullet Rig and the set-ups were almost doubled. It’s a fast, light rig. Because it’s inexpensive, some stereographers dismiss it – because they’ve never used it.”

The beam-splitter rig can work with EasyRig, Steadicam, or just handheld and weighs approx. 15 lbs. (5.8 kgs.)
