The ViewSonic V3D231 includes Tri-Def 2D to 3D static image and video conversion, SRS Premium Sound speakers, 1920 X 1080 picture resolution and a pair of polarised glasses plus a pair of clip-on lenses at a competitive price of £239 (inc VAT).

Although it can’t match the price point of the £187 LCD LG D42P 3D monitor, ViewSonic’s new monitor boasts a faster response time of 2ms and a higher dynamic contrast ratio of 200,000,000:1. Connectivity includes VGA, DVI-D and HDMI 1.4a inputs making it Sky 3D , PS3 and Blu-ray 3D player compatible. The display supports both over and under and side by side signals which are selectable via the menu. The screen is coated with a 'Frame Patterned Retarder' panel which works in a similar way to LG's 'Film Patterned Retarder' as part of its Cinema 3D range.

3D Focus TV will be reviewing the ViewSonic V3D231 3D monitor very soon.
