OMOTE 3D – Realtime Projection Mapping

Omote 3D is a Japanese company who is doing some very cool stuff with realtime 3D tracking, Projection Mappying and 3D Printing.
In the video below you will see that the effects and graphics were created beforehand but that there is a program allowing it to track her face in real time, although there is visible glitching along the boarders this is a remarkable step forward in realtime projection mapping.

The 3D scanning of people for figurines is not a new idea although Omote 3D calls themselves the "world's first." The video gives an accurate look at some of what goes on in the scanning and printing process although it skips over the multitude of things that can go wrong and cause difficulties.
