ASUS Announce 27″ 3D Monitor VG278H For Gamers

ASUS have recently announced a new 3D monitor to add to a group of monitors that are part of its Republic of Gamers range. The ASUS VG278H was announced during CEBIT 2011.
At 27”, the ASUS 3D monitor is on the larger size and features an LED backlight display, built in 3D Vision IR emitter and full support for 3D graphics cards via HDMI 1.4. It is compatible with shutter glasses 3D technology.
The ASUS VG278H has a full resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a 120 hertz refresh rate (60 hertz for each the left and right images). It features a brightness level of 400cd/m2, a response time of 2ms and a contrast ratio of 1000:1/50,000000:1 dynamic.
ASUS had promised to launch a 3D monitor last year – the 27” PG276, part of the Designo ML series. However, it never made it into production so we wait to find out whether the ASUS VG278H will suffer the same fate!
