Finnish based 3D production company Stereoscape, the company behind Scandinavia’s first animated 3D feature film Moomins and Finland’s first 3D cinema commercial, has created an alliance with Swedish production company REZQ specialising in stereoscopic 3D productions. The goal is to strengthen the company’s position in the Nordic 3D market.

The co-operation covers both production and marketing efforts. Together the two companies will offer a wide selection of 3D products and services, such as live action shooting, animation, glasses-free 3D, 2D-3D conversions and 3D concept creation.

Also, a new 3D showroom has also been opened in Gothenburg to showcase the possibilities of glasses-free 3D production. Located in the premises of Lightland – an audio, video and light design company specialising in event, TV, show and stage solutions, the Gothenburg office will present autostereoscopic 3D screens to highlight the potential for the experiential marketing industry.

“This Nordic 3D partnership network aims to be a source of inspiration for all Scandinavian S3D service providers, accessing new technologies and learning new techniques through co-operation”, says Tomi Luostarinen, the CEO of Stereoscape.

Stereoscape appear to be expanding fast. The company recently launched a UK sales office in the UK’s equivalent of Silicon Valley. The UK office offers 2D to 3D conversion services plus stereographic personnel and equipment hire.

Speaking about the UK office Tomi Luostarinen said “We are thrilled to enter the UK market at such an exciting time. We have a strong presence in Scandinavia and can’t wait to expand our networks further. 3D is happening on all platforms – mobile, laptops, TV and cinemas – and we are now looking forward to developing new partnerships in the UK.”
