Avatar to be released in UK on 3D Blu-ray….. finally!

The film that kick-started the latest 3D craze towards the end of the last decade will finally be made available for all 3D Blu-ray owners.

Since it was released, the Blu-ray of Avatar 3D has only been available for people who purchased a Panasonic 3D entertainment kit. The marketing agreement between Twentieth Century Fox and Panasonic has kept the 2009 epic out of Blu-ray retailers as a stand-alone product. However, the 2D version has been readily available ever since April 2010.

Avatar 3D Blu-ray 3D Collector's Edition will be available on 3D Blu-ray in the UK from October 15th. About a week before that, another 3D epic, Prometheus 3D, will be released in the UK (Special Edition (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Copy) on October 8th – another Twentieth Century Fox movie. Also, being released as part of a marketing deal with Panasonic with be Fox's Titanic 3D but on a non-exclusive basis.
