IHS will reveal latest research on 4K/Ultra HD at MIPTV
4K will be a hot topic at this year’s MIPCOM and the speakers for the ‘Television’s Next Revolution’ conference have been announced
'From 2D to 3D to 4K and Ultra-HDTV' replaces the sole focus on 3D of the last couple of years, as 4K/8K is expected to be gain great popularity over the next decade as 4K cameras and TVs reduce in cost. There will be a series of panels and SONY 4K Display will continuously show 4K material on a repeating loop in prominent positions within the Palais des Festival.

Mike Gunton, head of the BBC’s world famous Natural History Unit, will talk about 4K production on its latest factual show 'Survival', and how it is planning to extend 4K-image capture as part of its theatrical release schedule, and future-proofing its output. “Survival” will be shown on a large screen in 4K.

Gary Davey, E-VP programming, Sky Deutschland, is responsible for the entire entertainment offering including all premium movie channels and the Sky Welt package. In addition, he supports CEO Brian Sullivan in driving Sky´s creative agenda to the next level. He will be talking about the Sky Deutschland tests with 4K.
Norbert Hoelzle, CCO, SES Astra Luxembourg - SES is Europe’s largest satellite operator and broadcasts to Germany, the British Isles and France, as well as the rest of Europe. 4K footage from the satellite operator will be shown on the cinema screen.
