According to Deadline.com, Ridley Scott is set to revisit the dystopian futuristic world of Blade Runner with a follow up movie, but this time the neon lit, rain sodden sidewalks of a humanoid populated megacity will be in immersive 3D.

Ridley Scott will direct the new instalment with Alcon Entertainment, who have signed an output deal with Warner Bros, the studio behind the original highly influential movie. In July this year, the Alien director said he would not return to 2D filmmaking ever again while talking about his 3D movie Prometheus (due to be released June 8th 2012) during the Comic Convention in San Diego.
