The 3D Gaming Championship started on November 17th and will finish on December 14th and is taking place at 'The Living Rooms' video games café in Dubai Festival City.
UAE's 3D gaming champion will be drowned on December 14th in a grand ceremony after four weeks of battling in two different 3D games on a weekly basis. The showdown will be played on LG’s new 4K 84-inch Ultra HD TV and a 47" LG Cinema 3D Smart TV, certificate and 3D Gaming festival trophy is up for grabs.
Those of you in the UK can see the 4K 84” LG Ultra-HD 3D TV at The Gadget Show Live from November 30th at the ExCel, London.
In other recent 3D gaming news, it has been confirmed that the Nintendo U Gamepad is 3D capable with Assassin’s Creed being one of the first 3D compatible games. However, unlike the 3DS, the 3D effect (when played on the console) requires glasses. Ubisoft have retained the INIFICOLOR feature from the XBOX and PS3 versions, a proprietary system from Trioviz which is available as a menu option on the Nintendo U and preserves up to 70% of colours. It is already available for several X-BOX and PS3 games that can be played on regular 2D TVs using glasses with coloured lenses.
Via the INFICOLOR 3D system, uses can adjust the 3D strength on the Nintendo U via the “Stereoscopy” menu. The stereoscopy can be changed to 'Off', 'INFICOLOR', 'Side By Side' or 'Top Bottom. (the latter two being for output to active or passive 3D TVs) and the 3D effect can be scaled from 0 to 10.
