Under the new agreement, ONSIGHT will act as an independent 3ality Technica service contractor for all of Europe. ONSIGHT has a strong reputation in 3D production having supplied crew and expertise for many big budget productions seen on Sky 3D such as The Bachelor King, Flying Monsters 3D and Kingdom of Plants 3D. The company also produced the BBC London Olympics 3D idents and recently produced a 3D film to be screened on a permanent basis in the Wimbledon Tennis Museum. It was also announced today that ONSIGHT is providing cameras and stereoscopic post-production services for Mr Stink, the BBC’s first scripted 3D programme.

3altity Technica are best known for supplying rigs and talent for 3D movies such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Texas Chainsaw 3D and The Hobbit. The Steve Schklair headed company are also highly involved in 3D television projects and supplied rigs for the Sony 3D episodic content trial. Steve has also told 3D Focus that the company is doing a lot in China and he has been personally involved with Russian big budget 3D epic, Stalingrad. Closer to home, 3ality Technica rigs are used for many live Sky 3D sports broadcasts. This agreement will support the company’s UK and Europe growth strategy and will give them a head-start on Cameron Pace Group who have been talking about opening a UK office since last year.

ONSIGHT joins existing service partner Arri-Media to enhance the level of service offered across 3ality Technica's product lines.

The formalised relationship means that 3ality Technica will have a solid presence in Europe for all of its 3D systems and support, benefiting the company’s broad client base in the motion picture, television, and broadcast markets. “We are keen on ensuring all of 3ality Technica’s clients have the best in service from a company that understands the challenges faced in a variety of production environments. ONSIGHT is that company, and we are thrilled to expand our relationship with Simon and his team,” said Steve Schklair, 3ality Technica’s CEO.

Simon Craddock, CEO, ONSIGHT concurred, ”Partnering with 3ality Technica has created an opportunity to work more closely together, building upon our shared interest and innovations in capturing quality 3D.  3ality Technica is a leader in the field of S3D, so joining forces was an easy decision for ONSIGHT to make."

As an authorized service provider, 3ality Technica will specifically train ONSIGHT technicians on how to upgrade, service, and support all 3ality Technica systems and technology. In addition, ONSIGHT will provide clients with 3ality Technica parts to ensure optimal on-set performance. Craddock adds, “The move to expand the relationship is particularly significant for 3ality Technica and ONSIGHT, as it confirms that the European 3D market is expanding and sizable enough to require localized client support. The partnership is a natural fit, enhancing 3D production support and reinforcing the film and broadcast collaboration between North America and Europe.”

Schklair continues, “The global market, especially Europe, is adopting 3D as part of their normal entertainment viewing experience at a far faster rate than the U.S., so we need to ensure our clients’ needs are quickly addressed by local service providers who understand the 3D business.”
