Ultra violent 3D horror film announced
Strong Image Films has acquired the movie rights to Frank Adonis’s horror suspense thriller film The Intruder 3D.
Rob Marchitti Manager and Founder of Strong Image Films will produce and direct the film. Las Vegas based Strong Images Films focus on the crime drama and horror genres and is currently working towards starting principle photography in 2013 for a 2014 release date.
The production company has said they are “looking forward to producing a breathtaking 3D film with shocking ultra violence in the horror genre”. Few details of the storyline have been revealed apart from “The Intruder 3D” tells a story of a nightmare mystery in a ’Halfway House’ that becomes a most shocking, and terrifying reality.
The budget is a modest $625,000 (on a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Modified Low Budget Agreement) and locations are being sought with auditions starting later.
Horror movies are making a resurgence and 3D appears to be finding a place outside family orientated animations and at home in violent and horror themed movies. Dredd 3D recently went straight to the top of the UK box office – the first 18 rated movie to do so since Saw 3D in 2010. The 3ality Technica produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D has wrapped and Spiders 3D will feature plenty of bloody moments. A series of classic 3D horror movies are being released on 3D Blu-ray soon including the infamous House of Wax.
