New extreme action 3D camera launching in Spring
French onboard mini camera specialists Camsports will launch a new full HD twin lens 3D camera designed for the professional outdoor filming market.
The Fusion 3D combines two Full HD (1980 X 1080) recorders in a single casing which synchronises both video files together. The Fusion 3D can be ‘worn’ on a camera person’ head bar or attached to a pivot-able bike mount, goggles mount or flat mount.
Each left and right stream is recorded to a separate SD card as high definition 1920 X 1080 pixels in 25/30 fps (Full HD), 1280 x 720p in 25/30/50/60 fps and will offer a wide angle of 135°. The rechargeable unit will offer one hour of recording time, has a fixed inter-axial distance and a 2D monitoring screen.
The Fusion 3D will be entering a market dominated by GoPro and the company’s 3D Hero system which houses two HD Hero cameras in a case that syncs up both feeds via a cable. Even professional 3D productions have used the relatively cheap GoPro 3D system, especially for ‘extreme’ shots and close ups (the system has a very small inter-axial distance).
The Fusion 3D camera was exhibited at CES and is expected to be available worldwide by the Spring. No pricing details have been released yet.
