National Brazilian football team are miniaturised in 3D
The entire Brazilian National Football team have been 3D scanned for an upcoming Globo multi media project.
3D scanning technology specialists Artec travelled to Geneva, Switzerland to scan the upper body of each player using the Artec EVA 3D scanner.
Processing was done in Artec Studio and it took five hours to successfully complete the process but there were difficulties along the way. For example, scanning Dante, who is famous for his flamboyant curly Afro haircut was a particularly tough job for the EVA.
The Artec 3D scanner uses a circular flash and doesn’t require markers or calibration. It captures 3D resolution up to 0.5 mm with a 3D point accuracy up to 0.1 mm.
Named The Spider because of its many “eyes” it has has been developed for scanning objects with many small details, such as molds, PCBs, coins and engravings.
Artec Spider was created as a solution for rapid prototyping, CAD design and manufacturing, quality control, as well as for other industries such as heritage preservation, graphic design medicine, automotive and aerospace – where Artec technology has already been implemented.
